This is a fun event that involves following a prescribed route on portions of Oklahoma City’s Outer Parkway as designed in 1909 by W.H Dunn. Originally conceived as a scenic boulevard that linked the outlying city parks then named Northwest, Southwest, Southeast and Northeast parks. Times have changed and so have all of the park names. The event route is divided into 5 sections and makes a loop around the city on or near this historic parkway. The course is completely on city streets with posted speeds of 25 to 45. Mileage and travel times are used to determine winners. Event materials include route sheets, a score card, event information and some early Oklahoma City history. You can start the event anytime or any day that the weather and your schedule allow. A keen eye for street signs and not exceeding the posted speed limit are required for a top score. You can complete the total route of approximately 50 miles in one day or complete the sections on multiple days.
Complete the 5 sections and return your score card to Richard Meadors or Gerald Tims at Performance Cycle. We will score your card and rank the results. The event begins June 1, 2009 we will accept scores until July 31, 2009. Final ranking of participants will be posted at STREETENDURO.COM or mailed after the closing deadline if requested.
The top 10% of participants will receive an embroidered award shirt with the Street Enduro logo and Outer Parkway Oklahoma City 2009. Entry fee is $20. Enter at Performance Cycle 6200 NW 39th, Oklahoma City.
